New Authorities under the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act (MoCRA)
Under this new act, the FDA can:
- Gain access to your records (including safety)
- Order a mandatory recall
- Dictate how adverse events are reported
The FDA requirements for the manufacturers and processors under MoCRA
The FDA can require you to:
- Register their facilities with the FDA and renew registration every 2 years
- List their products and ingredients and provide annual updates
- Obtain safety substantiation from "scientifically robust methods"
